2017 Ottawa-Gatineau Myeloma Walk – Steps to a Cure!
Sunday , September 24th
This year’s Ottawa-Gatineau Myeloma Walk is being held on Sunday, September 24th at the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre, Britannia Beach, Ottawa. Registration is at 12:30 and the March will take place from 1:00- 3:00 PM.
The Walk not only brings the community together and increases awareness of the disease but importantly helps fund clinical research and supports advocacy for accelerated access to game changing therapies for Canadian patients living with myeloma.
Half of the funds raised will support the work of the National Myeloma Research Network and half will support myeloma research at the Ottawa General Hospital.
Our fundraising goal this year is $75,000. With your help we can do it! Pull a team together of family and friends and register for the Walk or simply make a contribution on our Myeloma Canada Website at www.stepstoacure.ca . It all counts!
And come and join us on September 24th. It will be fun! You can walk 1-5 km along a beautiful riverside trail or simply enjoy music, refreshment and conversation in the Ron Kolbus Lakeside Centre. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Thank you for your support!

The meetings are divided in 2 parts:
- During the first part, an expert is invited to give a presentation on a subject of interest to Myeloma patients: treatments available, research in progress, drugs used and upcoming drugs, food habits, how to deal with the psychological impact, the financial implications, etc.
- During the second part, the group has an open discussion where everyone can share their progress and bring to the table issues or concerns.
The meetings start at 6:45pm and end by 9:00pm.
